Library’s Mission

 

The mission of the Library and Information Centre is the collection, the processing and the dissemination of information related to the cognitive subjects of Institution’s Departments, as well as the user’s training and development of their skills in the use of new technologies and the proper selection of information sources.

Objectives:

 

• Selection, acquisition, organization and management of collections of books, journals (print and electronic), databases and audiovisual material.

• Ensuring access to a large number of electronic resources (databases, journals, thematic portals, etc.).

• Recommendations for the staffing of the Library and Information Centre with trained manpower and concern for its continuous education.

• Ensuring the equipment (software and hardware) for the smooth and uninterrupted operation of the Library and Information Center.

• Keeping informed and supporting and all users of the Library and Information Center.

• Providing comprehensive training programs for all users on the proper use of the available information sources.

• Ongoing monitoring of the developments in the fields of librarianship and information, as well as of the technological developments in order to improve its services and develop new ones.

• Cooperation of the Library and Information Centre with other local or foreign Libraries, Institutions and Organizations.

• Regular assessment of the quality of provided services to users of the Library and Information Center.
